Rising Star Jared Harrington

Tyler Cox: We talked about a year and a half ago, what if any, changes to your recruitment have there been?
Jared Harrington: I've talked on the phone with Cal State and Wingate University invited me to their showcase camp. That's it really.

TC: Which schools are you interested in right now? Do you have a top 5?
JH: As of right now I don't have any interest. I'm fairly unknown and I plan on making my top 5 when more schools are interested in me.

TC: What do you look for in a program? What would it take for a school to get a commitment from you?
JH: I look fr a family atmosphere, great coaching staff, a winning program and if the school says I can make an impact their program as soon as possible. If I like the coaching staff, I will most likely commit.

TC: Other than from me, what have you heard about NKU?
JH: Nothing really, I haven't done my research on many schools yet.

TC: What is a strength that you feel that you do better than anybody?
JH: My scoring ability

TC: You're only a sophomore, so you obviously have some time to grow more as a player. What do you feel you need to work on before you head to play for a D1 program?
JH: My strength and conditioning, agility and vocal leadership.

TC: What is the best characteristic that a basketball player could have?
JH: The bet characteristic that a basketball player could have is leadership.

TC: Do you have this characteristic?
JH: Yes.

TC: What style of player are you? Explain.
JH: I am a scoring PG/SG. I can lead a team. I can play a half court set or I can push the ball. I'm a hard worker.

TC: Finally, who do you think is going to win the NBA title? And Why?
JH: I think the Heat will win. They play well together as a team and they overpower everybody in the league.
